Portnoy Media Lab Is Live
I’m launching a podcast.
Not because the world needs more noise.
Because too many smart people are stuck working hard inside systems that should be working better.
Portnoy Media Lab is a space to think out loud about clarity, storytelling, strategy, and execution—especially for people doing meaningful work with limited margin for error.
What the show is (and isn’t)
This isn’t a hype machine.
It’s not trend-chasing.
And it’s definitely not another “do more content” sermon.
Some episodes will be solo—me pulling apart ideas I’m actively using in my work. Frameworks. Missteps. Hard-earned lessons. The thinking behind the thinking.
Other episodes will feature guests—builders, creatives, leaders, and practitioners who actually ship things. Not because they’re famous. Because they’re useful.
Sometimes we’ll agree.
Sometimes we won’t.
That’s the point.
What we’ll spend time on
Why effort doesn’t always lead to momentum
Where messaging breaks down inside good organizations
How story clarifies strategy instead of decorating it
What to stop doing before adding something new
How to build systems that support real work, not busywork
If you’ve ever thought, “This should be working better than it is,” you’re in the right room.
Start here
I’ve posted a short teaser to set the tone.

New episodes will include both conversations and solo runs. No rigid format. Just a consistent point of view.
This is a lab. We’re going to test ideas, keep what works, and throw out what doesn’t.
If that sounds useful, pull up a chair.
